5 5  These screenshots marked as "January" were presumably distributed to select press outlets earlier than the E3 screenshots below, but were never officially released directly to the public. Several of them were published in Nintendo Power magazine and on IGN64.

7 -Notably, several screenshots appear to have been captured in the Nintendo 64's high-resolution mode. In the extant prototype, only the startup menus run in high-res mode, with the in-game graphics exclusively displaying at the standard, lower N64 resolution. This is causing some HUD issues in these screens, where the low-res HUD appears much smaller than it does when running at the normal resolution.

31 31  These screenshots were distributed to press and published on Rare's defunct Dinosaur Planet web site shortly before E3 2000. Several of these screenshots are close to or the same as the January batch: Shots 1, 4 and 10 appear to be the same as in January, while shot 6, the Galadon fight, has been retaken without the HUD displaying.

33 +The image of Krystal on a log at Discovery Falls, dpshot5.jpg, is noticeably different from the others. It appears to date from a much earlier build, given Krystal's appearance is extremely dissimilar from all other screens and footage, and it is blurrier than the other screenshots, possibly indicating it was resized from the image in the E3 press kit, seen further down the page.

57 +The E3 press kit included a set of 8 screenshots, some new and others reused from previous batches. It's unclear when these images became public, as they were originally intended only for press use. N64_din2.jpg is a different resolution to all of the others. For reasons unknown, N64_din8.jpg appears to have been mirrored after capture, with the Sabre textures and area layout suggesting a post-production flip rather than a design change.
