v2.4

dinomod v2.4 "one hour video" edition

new in this build:
- all of the above from dinopatch v2.4, plus...
- the old item pickup jingle as heard in the 1 hour video can now be optionally enabled! this setting is stored to the savegame.
- earthwalker temple (the old walled city map) has been added back into the game, and can be explored via the warp menus! note: this does not replace walled city and exists separately to it
- the "start game" menus now allow you to specify the map setup to use, where applicable. in some cases these can configure the level differently (see below)
- a cheat for infinite CRF/GP snowbike fuel has been added - use this with the above (start game -> golden plains -> map setup 6) to spawn a snowbike and freeride around the desert until your heart's content!
- an additional debug option has been added to print player/sidekick addresses/coordinates, and map info
- krazoa shrines in the warp menus have been renamed (hopefully accurately)
- portal spell cheat has been fixed (i can't read)
- sound test now translates the sound ID to an SFX.bin or MPEG.bin ID
- moved some toggles under a "settings" submenu, and removed the options menu launcher as the game's main menu now provides this functionality

DinoMod v2.4

------

v2.3

"tagline goes here"  edition

new in this build:
- 16MB RAM support! this alleviates crashes due to the game running out of memory (which is fairly common), however it will almost certainly remain emulator-exclusive. emulators and gfx plugins will have varying levels of support for this for now but will hopefully add the necessary updates in time. note that dinomod is still compatible with 8MB, and only uses 16MB if it's available.
- dinomod now saves some of its settings to the savegame to avoid the need to toggle many things when restarting the game (currently includes sabre toggle, anti-aliasing, patches and some debug options)
- debug text is now disabled by default, but enabling it will persist via the savegame as above
- defeating klanadack now shouldn't send you to a black screen, but progression beyond that is still unlikely
- certain objects (e.g. warlock mountain warp activator on 2nd visit) will no longer crash the game
- added health/mana/scarab cheats
- the game's options menu can now be launched from anywhere, its settings are correctly saved, and the 16:9 option is now working
- many tweaks to memory management, including reclaiming various unused memory blocks and a basic attempt to recover from out of memory crashes
- an option has been added to enable displaying debug objects/actors, under the debugging menu

Mod v2.3

------

v2.1

This is a patch that adds various exploration/fun/debug/testing features to the ROM, no GS codes needed and therefore should be better suited for playing on hardware. Currently includes:

  • Noclip/moonjump (once enabled, hold L)
  • Warp to various locations (retains existing save)
  • Start new game at various locations (similar to old official "warp menu")
  • Ability to return to main menu, and launch the rolling demo
  • All the patches in dinopatch are enabled, and can be disabled if needed (currently equivalent to dinopatch v2.1)
  • Many debug prints which can be optionally enabled (some are on by default)
  • Reload area and toggle object streaming
  • Sabre model toggle
  • Cheats: currently includes player abilities and sidekick abilities
  • Anti-aliasing toggle
  • A method to launch the options menu, with working subtitles/instruments toggles
  • Opening credits play during cutscene after Galleon battle
  • Sound FX and music test menu

Menu navigation is done entirely with the d-pad. Press right to bring up the menu and advance through it, press left to go back or close the menu, and up/down to cycle through each menu. Additionally you can press left during the startup menus to skip straight to the game select menu.
